01 / WELCOME TO THE PROGRAM

AMBITION: ORBITAL
BUDGET: BACKYARD

A giant leap.
A very small
starting point.

You have a backyard, a big idea, and a robot who probably knows better.

Backyard Space Program is a low-poly space sandbox about building your way into the unknown. Take on contracts, piece together your next rocket, and turn yesterday’s spectacular failure into tomorrow’s slightly better plan.

The program is still taking shape. Here’s the experience we’re building.

YOUR NEXT GREAT IDEA

Some assembly.
Lots of ambition.

Choose your rocket parts and make something you’re willing to sit on top of. Every launch starts with a plan. The good ones even have enough fuel.

02 / YOU’RE NOT GOING ALONE

Meet B.O.L.T.
Your most
opinionated crewmate.

Your own robot companion. Part co-pilot, part operations manager, part witness to your questionable decisions.

B.O.L.T. is at the heart of the program—from your first backyard launch to the dream of managing a fleet. As the world gets bigger, so does the question of what’s going on behind those eyes.

TRANSMISSION / PRE-LAUNCH BRIEFING

“I have calculated the odds.
Would you prefer encouragement?”

A scripted taste of B.O.L.T.'s personality.

03 / THE FLIGHT PLAN

THE VISION AHEAD

The backyard
is just the beginning.

Handcrafted destinations. Bigger ambitions.
A reason to make the next launch count.

WHERE IT ALL STARTS

Home is where
the launchpad is.

A neighborhood, a workshop, and a launchpad with suspiciously little distance between them. This is where small contracts become big ideas.

Planned progression. Features and scope may change during development.

05 / BEFORE YOU STRAP IN

A few
ground rules.

What kind of game is this?

A low-poly space sandbox built around modular rockets, contracts, salvage, exploration, and your robot companion B.O.L.T. The tone is playful; the ambitions are enormous.

When can I play?

Backyard Space Program is in development. A release date and public playtest schedule have not been announced on this site.

Which platforms are planned?

PC, with a Steam release planned. Store and availability details will be added when ready.

Are these gameplay screenshots?

The images on this page are concept and promotional artwork. They show the intended mood and direction; they are not gameplay screenshots.

How far will the program go?

The vision starts with handcrafted solar-system destinations: the backyard, orbit, the Moon, Mars, and automated industry in the asteroid belt. These are development goals, not a promise that every destination is currently playable.
